There are many advantages when you have an Independent Broker. First, and most important, is the insured has an insurance professional to deal with who understands their insurance needs. Many think by going to the internet or phone to buy insurance is a great deal. That 'deal' can turn into a nightmare. One only has to read some of the negative comments registered by 'online customers' or listen to the complaints of phone clients. Further, some of those 'discount' insurance phone quotes somehow change when you go to the office or receive the policy!
A Broker is there at every turn to help you decide what is best for you and your family. This is true for Auto, Home, Health, and most importantly, Life Insurance. Some companies don't readily reveal that the low Life rate you have today will go up in five years. For some that means nothing, but if you're on a fixed income it makes a huge difference. This holds true especially for our elderly.
The other advantage is the number of companies a Broker has. If you represent one company there's no possible way you can satisfy all insurance needs. I had the unfortunate experience of being one of those 'captive' Agents and when rates were too high my insured's were forced to look elsewhere. I understood and left too.
Take a moment to review all your insurance coverage and ask yourself, "is this the best for me and my family?" There's a distinct difference between saving money and knowing you have the best coverage available whether it be Auto, Homeowner, Life, Commercial, or Health Insurance. Thinking you've saved a nickel or a dime isn't worth the many headaches and sleepless nights experienced by not being properly insured when you have a claim.
